Easy to Reach

The University of Massachusetts is located just six miles from Interstate 91, which connects to all major highways including the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90). Routes 9 and 116 provide easy access to the University from I-91. Amherst and the University are served by regularly scheduled buses from New York City, Boston, Hartford, and Springfield. Amtrak offers service directly to Amherst from Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Vermont, and Canada. Amherst is a 45-minute drive from Bradley International Airport, which serves the Hartford/Springfield metropolitan area. Bradley International is a hub for many domestic carriers and offers connecting flights to international carriers. Local companies provide regularly scheduled or door-to-door airport shuttle service.
