CEERE operates as a service and research
support center within the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Contracts, grants and fee-based activities provide the framework
for services offered by the Center. CEERE provides technical support
to local, state and federal agencies in technology development,
deployment, energy policy and environmental regulation. Information
exchange and technology transfer are essential components of all
center activities. Some of the specific tasks or deliverables
that CEERE offers include:
- Technical support for policy and regulatory
decision making,
- Technical support and management support
for project development,
- Proposal review and evaluation,
- Proof-of-concept and technology due diligence,
- Technology testing,
- Method and protocol development,
- Engineering feasibility studies,
- Engineering economic analysis,
- Development of curricula and other educational
material,
- Outreach to industries, regulators, and
stakeholders,
- Technology transfer and information systems.
Working with CEERE
CEERE operates similarly to many University-based research centers.
A major portion of CEERE’s operating funds come from competitively
bid grants and contracts. Other funds are obtained through direct
requests for services and are negotiated with specific deliverables
for a fixed fee. Contracting with CEERE follows standard terms
and conditions in accordance with University policy.
