Diverse system architecture

Hybrid2 allows the user to create power systems with diverse architectures. AC and DC system buses are used to separate the power system components. The power systems can include wind turbines, photovoltaic, diesel generators, batteries, dump loads and four types of power conversion equipment. Hybrid2 also allows for the inclusion of a coupled diesel system where a single diesel engine is directly connected to a rotary converter.

The power systems are created by selecting components from the integrated library and inserting them into the power system. The library contains components that are defined by manufactures data on rated power, system efficiency, cost and equipment life. If the library does not contain a component a user would like to use, a new library record can be created by the user. This record becomes a permanent part of the library and then can be used in many different projects. - Ian Baring-Gould
