For Windows NT, 95 or 98
Note: This software must be used while running Windows NT, 95 or 98.
If you are using an earlier version of Windows, 3.1 for example, you will
need to use Hybrid2 version 1.1f. Please contact Hybrid2 users support regarding
any questions.
Warning: If you install Hybrid2 over another version of the Hybrid2 software,
you may erase all of the data entered into this previous database. Please
be sure to backup the original database before starting the instalation
process. In most cases there should not be a problem, in the remote situation
that there is a problem, this backup procedure would save you lots of work.
If you have any questions or run into problems please contact Hybrid2 user
support.
To Install:
- If you are using installation disks, insert disk 1 into your computer
disk drive. Run a:\Hy2setup.exe from the RUN command in the
Start menu. If you've downloaded the installation file from the web,
run the executable file that you downloaded.
- Enter your name and company name when prompted.
- When asked where to install Hybrid2 it must go in the root C:\
directory but can be put into a directory of any name. You may be prompted
to put Hybrid2 into the C:\Program Files\Hybrid2 directory. The program
WILL NOT function here, it must be placed in the Root C:\ directory.
- Hybrid2 will back up all replaced program files and install an Uninstall
program to remove Hybrid2 and return any system files. This is recommended
for first time Hybrid2 installation. If you are installing Hybrid2 onto
a computer that already contains a copy of Hybrid2, you will not want to
back up the code because this will result in two copies of Hybrid2 on your
computer.
- Insert disks 2 through 6 as requested.
- Note: Some users, particularly those with laptops, may need
an independent version of a specific driver that can't
be replaced during the installation procedure. During installation if you
get the Error "Can't install Threed.VBX, file in use", continue
the installation. A copy of the driver, Threed.VBX, has been provided on
disk 6; this will have to be copied while in DOS because it may be used
to operate Windows. The driver should be copied into the Windows/System
directory.
- Follow the installation instructions about including a Hybrid2 icon
in your windows environment.
