Dr Duane Cromack: Now retired, Professor Cromack was one of the founders of the wind energy program at the University of Massachusetts.
William Heronemus, Professor Emeritus: Professor Heronemus directed the UMass Wind Furnace project, a very successful early wind turbine.
Sandy Butterfield: One of the members of Energy Sciences Inc., the company that created the ESI-80, Sandy was also a member of the Renewable Energy Research Laboratory during his years at the University of Massachusetts. He now works at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Benjamin Bell: While at the University of Massachusetts, Ben worked with Professors McGowan and Cromack on wind and solar heating systems, as well as Vertical Axis Wind Turbines. Ben worked as chief engineer at FloWind and then moved on to GE Wind and is now with Garrad Hassan in Peterborough, New Hampshire .
Walter Musial: Walter is now at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. When at the University, he studied the aerodynamic performance of rotors.
Brian McNiff of McNiff Light Enterprises: Brian was instrumental in bring the ESI-80 out to the University of Massachusetts. Brian had worked as a Test Engineer for ESI-80 before becoming a private consultant. As a consultant Brian has worked with numerous wind power companies.
William Jeffries: After working on the UMass Experimental Wind Turbine and getting his Ph.D. from the University, Will moved on to England where he did post-doctorate work. Currently he is with Yankee Environmental Systems.
Garrett Bywaters: Another veteran of the UMT-80, Garrett got his master's degree from the University before going to work for Northern Power.
E. Ian Baring-Gould: After spending almost eight years at the University getting his bachelor's and master's degrees, Ian had worked on several projects, including work on Hybrid an Hybrid 2 and the UMT-80. Now Ian works at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
