Anthony Ellis, Research Fellow
Anthony Ellis received a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
from the University of Rochester in 1977. He joined the
Renewable Energy Research Laboratory in 1992 and was chiefly responsible for
review, repair, and upgrade of all mechanical systems on the 250 kW ESI wind
turbine installed on Mount Tom, 20 miles from the Lab (the ESI turbine was
purchased by the University of Massachusetts in 1991 from a site in
California).
Tony earned an MSME in Wind Turbine Engineering in 1997 and is now employed
as a Research Fellow at RERL, responsible for research related to turbine
mechanical systems and for installation of meteorological research towers at
sites around Massachusetts under the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Fund's
Community Wind Initiative.
